Rising Sun Quilt Fest

Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 30, 31,and April 1, 2012 at Grand Theatre at Grand Rising Star Casino and Resort.

“QuiltFest” has grown from an initial showing of 35 quilts from the community and the Historical Society collection hung in the museum in 2002.   In 2008 and 2009 the show moved to the Rising Sun Senior Citizen and Community Building with vendors, classes and 98 quilts, art quilts and art items entered in competition for cash prizes.

Civil War Reenactment

Ohio County Historical Society will be sponsoring a Civil War reenactment in Rising Sun, Indiana beginning May 4 – 6, 2012.

Shiner Pride Car Show

The 15th annual car show along the banks of the Ohio River will be on July 1st beginning at 9:00am.  It is sponsored by the Rising Sun High School marching and is well worth your time.  The show has over 300 entries  consists of cars, trucks, and motorcycles on display.  For more information go to Rising Sun Schools website.

The Festival of Fine Arts & Crafts

Several booths will be set up on Main Street for a two day event displaying original artwork.  This annual event is  Sept. 17 & 18, 2012.
